I have to say I find it difficult introducing myself, as I was never a fan of labels. Currently, I am a mother of 2, wife, sister, daughter, friend, lover, soul searcher, image consultant, and celebrity stylist but mainly a creature of change.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT YOUR CAREER, WHERE DID THE ADVENTURE START? WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO FOLLOW THIS CAREER PATH?
My career in Image Consulting started when I realized I wasn’t cut for a 9 to 5 job and, I decided to quit my job in advertising and study something new. I traveled to New York City and enrolled in a course of wardrobe styling, which is when and where I discovered the world of Image Consulting that is way bigger than merch styling. This led to experimentation with more courses, tests, and accreditations up to the point where I became a trainer myself. To be honest, at first I never dreamed, I could turn this into a profession or career but I was very passionate about it and I can say I am very happy with where I am today. It is something that I am never bored with and I always find new ways of growing.
TELL US ABOUT AN ACCOLADE OF YOU’VE ACHIEVED THAT YOU MOST PROUD OF?
I have had several moments that I could later call achievements among the way such as celebrity styling experiences or building a portfolio of high-end luxury brands as a client database, but the greatest was and will still be influencing someone - a single person, into changing their life for the better by empowering them with the tools to reflect their best true image.
HOW DO YOU FIND THAT PERFECT WORK/FAMILY BALANCE?
I don’t believe there will ever be a perfect work/family balance formula achieved at any level when your passion is both your family and your work. The balance I create is by prioritizing as I go and I have to say my family and especially my daughters always come first. This is why I quit the corporate rat race in the first place and so right now I have a job that I created for myself where I get to choose how to run it and when to slow down. This is as close to balance as it gets.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PERSONAL ROLE MODELS YOU LOOK UP TO FOR INSPIRATION?
There are several personas that inspire me in a way or another and they range from writers, spiritual teachers to random regular people I have met along the way that have had a touching personal story, but there is not one specific role model that I would aspire to.
An influential woman is one who realizes she is powerful beyond measure by connecting with her true self and not letting the external reality shape her. She realizes she is beautiful not only because of her looks but her strengths and weaknesses and scars and she is always ready to help others evolve. She is the one who smiles from the heart when others succeed because she knows that there is more than enough to go around and that the world will be a better place when everyone is connected to their highest self.
MOST ICONIC PIECE OF YOUR CLOSET There isn’t one, I would not choose a designer label or vintage piece from my closet as an iconic item although I do value the craftsmanship and luxury. An iconic piece would be something that has a relevant meaning at this phase in my life, currently, my custom created Om necklace.
PERSONAL BEAUTY HACK Right now it has to be essential oils for the face and biotin for the hair, they both do wonders.
DAY TO DAY LIFE ESSENTIAL Coffee, soul friends, music, meditation and under eye concealer.
SIGNATURE SOUNDTRACK Angus and Julia stone “Chocolates and Cigarettes” soundtrack.
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED “Live in the now.” It took me a long time to become fully aware of the power of the present moment and truly living the now. Our monkey mind is always jumping between past memories, hurts, experiences and future goals or fears - which stops us from truly appreciating the present moment. I can say my life has definitely changed once I realized how to just stop and live the now, whatever that may be.
GUILTY PLEASURE Dark chocolate, late nights, coffee and cigarettes.
